ABOUT US

With an emphasis on customer service, problem-solving, operational competency, intellectual curiosity, and sustainability in the tourist industry, the department provides a four-year Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management curriculum. Students in the hospitality degree are prepared for a variety of hospitality-related fields, such as MICE, culinary arts, housing, leisure and recreation, and food and beverage. This is accomplished through research, industry immersion, stay-and-learn programs, culminating events, and on-the-job training.

THE DEPARTMENT

DHTM OBJECTIVES

The major objective of the BSTM/BSHM program is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and values that are essential in performing leadership roles in the dynamic hospitality and tourism service industry.


Specifically, it aims to:

a. Prepare students for a variety of competitive positions in lodging, food service operations, and tourism services;


b. Develop globally competitive leaders, managers, entrepreneurs and researchers in the hospitality and tourism industry.


 c. Impart experiential learning in various hospitality and tourism services via extensive on-the-job training.

This course as for us HM students, teaches and cater us effective communication skills, wherein we learn to engage with people with different backgrounds as well as cultural awareness. We will gain practical experience through internships and on-the-job training as well as the duty in department, which prepares us for the real world.
